Board rules

These rules are disclosed to clarify the various responsibilities of all community members here on Combat Sims/QLSA. They shall be adhered to by everyone to ensure that our board runs smoothly and provides a fun and productive experience for all of our community members and visitors.

  1. 1. Posts are to be made in the relevant forum. Users are asked to read the forum descriptions before posting. Users consistently posting to the wrong forum may be given a warning (see policing below).
    2. Members should post in a way that is respectful of other users. Flaming or abusing users in any way will not be tolerated and will lead to a warning.
    3. Members are asked to not act as "back seat moderators". If members note an issue which contravenes something in this policy document they are welcome to bring it to the attention of a member of the Moderator Team. Only do this if a moderator team member has not replied within 6 hours. Do not respond to such topics yourself. Members who constantly "act" as moderators may be warned.
    4. Members should remember this board is aimed at a general audience. Posting pornographic or generally offensive text, images, links, etc. will not be tolerated and will lead to a warning. This will be strictly policed in the Affiliate forums.
    5. Members are asked to respect the copyright of other users, sites, media, etc. Users linking to or asking for information on warez, crackz, etc. or re-printing material without permission will receive a warning and their post will be removed.
    6. Members should respect the bandwidth of other users and sites. The use of inline () image tags pointing to data stored on third party systems for which the user has not received permission to link to may be removed.
    7. Members should post in a way which is consistent with "normal writing". That is users should not post excessive numbers of emoticons, large, small or coloured text, etc. Similarly users should not SHOUT or use excessive punctuation (e.g. ! and ?) in topic titles or posts. Users consistently abusing this will be warned.
    8. Members should use an appropriate, descriptive title when posting a new topic. Examples of bad titles include; "Suggestions", "Event", "I've got a problem!", etc. Examples of good titles include; "Suggestion for New Training Ground", "Problems Accessing the Events Forum", etc.
    9. Spam is not tolerated here under any circumstance. This includes offering any services (charged and free). Recruiting members for your own groups is not permitted and is also considered spam. Users posting spam will be warned and their post removed.
    10. The moderating, support and other teams reserve the right to edit or remove any post at any time. The determination of what is construed as indecent, vulgar, spam, etc. as noted in these points is up to Team Members and not users.
    11. The above forum rules where applicable also apply to private messaging. Abuse of the private messaging system may lead to warnings (as above) and/or the revocation of private messaging.
    12. Avatars are subject to the same conditions as posts with respect decency, and so forth.
    13. Members must not post any material that may violate any laws be it of their country, the country where this site is hosted or International Law. Doing so may lead to you being immediately and permanently banned, with notification of your Internet Service Provider if deemed required by us. The IP address of all posts are recorded to aid in enforcing these conditions.
    14. Members must not overtly promote or discuss illegal activities or activities which may be a criminal offence.
    15. As a member you agree to any information you have entered being stored in a database. While access to this site is restricted, data submitted to the site, including forum posts, should not be considered private. Combat Simulations International shall not be held responsible for any hacking attempt or actions of other account holders that may lead to the data being compromised.
    16. As a member you consent to the disclosure of information you enter into your account details and profile (during the registration process or subsequently) to site administrators and moderators

    Administration and Policing

    1. We operate a zero to three strike policy. At the discretion of the moderators, users will be warned a MAXIMUM of three times. If the need arises for a third warning, or if the nature of the infraction warrants it earlier, a temporary or permanent ban will be put in place.
    2. Arguing with team members after having received a warning will lead to an immediate additional warning. Should this exceed three strikes a temporary ban will be put in place as above.
    3. Users who feel they have been unfairly warned are welcome to contact the relevant team leader, e.g. if warned by a moderator you should contact the Moderator team leader. If they feel you were treated badly they remove a warning.
    4. Any attempt to circumvent a temporary ban will lead to that ban being made permanent. Circumvention includes re-registering under a non-banned username, changing IP addresses to evade an IP ban, registering a new email account to evade an email ban. Circumvention includes posting as an anonymous user.
    5. An exception to the three strike rule applies when users contact team members personally (via any method) and post insulting, indecent or vulgar material. Such users may be subject to an immediate permanent ban.
    6. Permanent bans are a last resort and thought is given before implementing them. While we may consider lifting permanent bans from time to time this is a rare occurrence.

  2. Forum Access

    1. Thankyou for visiting our forums. Combat Sims Int is a small, tight-knit community with very specific interests. We're passionate about our sport and whilst we welcome new members we also realise that our form of Combat Simulation is not for everyone and frequently makes us a target for those who either don't share our enthusiasm or want to get involved for the wrong reasons.
      Our members are responsible, respectful and law-abiding and our sport is exactly that - a sport. Whilst we are very much military-oriented our equipment, methods and procedures serve only to enhance the intensity and challenge of competition and simulation, and are not in any way intended for use in real-world applications. We do what we do for fun and escapism. Politics and idealism are left at home when we come out to play.

      If you wish to register for these forums and maintain access you'll need to meet the following criteria:

      You must be 18+ years of age. There is adult content within both the forums and at some of the events that is not suitable for minors. There are currently two exemptions to this rule which may allow access for younger members:
      If you are 17 years old and a member of the Australian Defence Force, either full or part-time (as part of a Regular or Reserve unit). You will be asked to provide proof, such as a copy of your ADF ID.
      If you are 17 years old and are personally recommended by an existing member, you may be approved for attendance following a brief phone or e-mail interview
      You'll need to attend at least one recent event conducted by one of our member organisations before you can apply.
      You'll need a sponsor from one of those organisations to vouch for you and then you can go ahead and apply for registration, telling us who your sponsor is.
      Combat Sims Int. is powered by FragTag. As a result there may be sensitive information available on these forums which is only suitable for users and supporters of FragTag and Combat Sims Int. Applications from persons with known allegiances to other manufacturers and rival businesses, including employees of those businesses may be rejected.
      You need to attend games and events. Unless you have a legitimate reason, if you fail to attend three or more consecutive events conducted by your member group (the one you listed in your application) your access may be canceled. A legitimate reason may be, for example; Armed Forces service.
      All applicants must truthfully complete all site registration form fields including but not limited to the Local Operation and Referrer fields.
      Your forum username must match your current or planned on-field callsign. If you do not have a callsign you can use part or all of your real name however this is not recommended.

      Admin reserves the right to deny access to anyone whose membership we feel is not in the best interests of Combat Sims. #
